A note from the pilot who built it

Built for the way pilots fly.

Your logbook is more than a record of hours.

It is every departure, every landing, every challenge overcome, and every step forward in your career.

I built Aerolog because logging flights should feel as precise and effortless as the profession itself. No unnecessary complexity. No repetitive work. No compromise on accuracy.

Just a beautifully designed logbook that helps you capture every flight, stay organized, and keep your records ready for whatever comes next.

From your first solo to your final flight, Aerolog is designed to grow with you.

Less time managing your logbook. More time flying.

The tour

Six screens. One month of duty. Zero re-typing.

01 · ROSTER

Your company's iCal in.

Paste one URL. Aerolog reads your duty roster and lays out the month, filtering standby, positioning, and office duties.

02 · PENDING

Nothing hits your totals until you say so.

Every imported flight is staged as pending. Review block times, aircraft, and crew — then confirm.

03 · DASHBOARD

The totals your career runs on.

Block, night, IFR, PIC, SIC, day and night landings. Every currency window at a glance.

04 · LOGBOOK

Every column your authority expects.

Filter by aircraft, PIC, PICUS, night, or date range. Export a PDF that ramp inspectors accept.

05 · MAP

A year of flying in one view.

Sectors flown, sectors upcoming, and the great-circle tracks that power your night calculation.

06 · DOCUMENTS

Licence, medical, type ratings.

Store every document that matters. Aerolog reminds you before the ramp does.

What's inside

Six things Aerolog does that your spreadsheet can't.

Roster sync

Duty roster, imported in one paste.

Native iCal from CrewLink, CrewApp, CrewDock, AIMS, Sabre CrewTrac and dozens more. A month of duty lands in Aerolog as pending flights, ready for review.

Pending review

You confirm every flight before it counts.

Imported flights don't touch your totals until you approve them. Block times, aircraft, and crew are yours to correct — Aerolog just does the typing.

Night & IFR

Computed from your actual track.

Night time is sampled along the great-circle route at 60-second resolution, using civil twilight — not sunset. IFR defaults by aircraft type and is editable per flight.

The book itself

Every column your authority expects.

PIC, SIC, PICUS, dual, instructor, night landings, instrument time. Filter, search, and export a PDF that inspectors accept anywhere in the world.

Documents

Licences, medicals, type ratings.

Store every document that matters. Aerolog reminds you 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry — so the ramp check never surprises you.

Under the hood

How the math actually works.

Night time is not sunset to sunrise at the destination. Regulators define it as the period between the end of evening civil twilight and the beginning of morning civil twilight, computed at the aircraft's position.

Aerolog samples points along the great-circle track between departure and arrival, computes civil twilight at each one, and sums the portion that fell after dark. On a westbound sector you're outrunning the sunset; on a polar leg you might cross twilight three times. A logbook that just checks “did it depart after dark?” gets these wrong by a full hour.

Common questions

Read the full FAQ
How do I import my roster from iCal?
Open Settings → Roster sync and paste your airline's iCal URL. Aerolog does an initial fetch, filters out non-flying duties, and stages every flight as pending. Subsequent syncs happen automatically.
How is night time actually calculated?
Aerolog samples points along the great-circle route between departure and arrival, computes civil twilight at each one, and sums the portion that fell after dark. You can override the value per flight for reroutes.
Can I export my logbook for a licence renewal or job application?
Yes. Aerolog exports CSV, a PDF formatted for authority inspection, and a full JSON backup you can re-import on another device. Your logbook leaves the app the same way it came in.
Does Aerolog work offline?
Every screen works offline. You'll close flights at FL350 with no signal and everything syncs when you land. Nothing about your logbook depends on a server being reachable.

Built in the open

Aerolog is built with the pilots who fly it.

Most of what shipped last year started as a message from someone on a layover. If something is wrong, slow, or missing, tell me — and watch it move across the roadmap.

Your logbook, ready before you're off the crew bus.
